Stronghold Warmth, situated in a nature reserve on the
island of Ameland, is a geothermal heat plant that offers
the experience of warm water directly at the source. It is a
sanctuary for nature enthusiasts and travelers who hike
across the mudflats.
Until recently the site was used for mining natural gas and is
by coincidence situated above usable geothermal heat source.
By transforming the old infrastructure it’s not only a
functional redevelopment, but also a fruitful energy source
adaptation.
